The DSC gets the retro treatment just like the wallpapers. I have added the Pistons’ Summer League schedule as well. I won’t be doing a Summer League schedule wallpaper for the Pistons.

We almost have another month with at least one game a day. That could still happen; it all depends on the Red Wings’ playoff schedule (which will be reflected on updated DSCs). Here’s the rest of the radio streams (which may or may not be blacked out):

It’s April in the D! *groans*

The Tigers open 2010 with Dontrelle at the end of the rotation. Yikes. Good thing we’re only weeks away from the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Red Wings on a very hot streak. As for the Pistons? Let’s hope the lottery is kind to them. Minor League Baseball is also underway this month, so get on out and enjoy inexpensive baseball if you have some in your area.

I’ll probably update the Tigers wallpapers if/when TV changes happen because of Red Wings playoff games. Don’t look for a Red Wings playoffs wallpaper.

A new feature this month: you will now get your wallpapers at midnight on the first of every month.

Spring training is here! On the Tigers wallpaper, I added all of the out-of-town TV and radio. All of the radio stations listed stream their signal on their sites, but I don’t know if MLB will be jerky butts and black them out. Check the DSC post for quick links to the streams.

Happy New Year!

It’s time for the biannual “Retro Month”. I have selected logos from the past of the teams that the Red Wings and Pistons will be playing this month. I have limited the logo selection to current locations of teams, which is why you won’t see a Hartford Whalers logo when the Red Wings play Carolina. After what happened in Hartford, there’s no way I could do that. As for teams that don’t have any real retro logos (like the Minnesota Wild) I chose alternate logos.

Huge thanks to Donovan Moore of the Society for Sports Uniform Research for providing the most accurate colors for all of the logos in my wallpapers and to the people at Chris Creamer’s Sports Logos Page for providing many high quality logos to use.

As far as the whole Comcast/Versus/DirecTV squabble, I’ve decided to go back to just one set of wallpapers for the Red Wings. I’ll just be taking a minor jab at what Versus used to be called to remind everyone of their roots. ^_^

Whoa, the Lions might actually win a couple of games this month. Too bad the St. Louis and Cleveland games will be blacked out. It’s pretty bad when I can’t even legally watch the terrible local NFL team.

Opening Day for the Tigers is near and so are the playoffs for the Red Wings (and hopefully the Pistons). I will update the DSC for every playoff round.

This is the busiest month of the year with FIVE wallpapers. I will not be adding any playoff series to the Red Wings and Pistons wallpapers, but I will make any updates to the Tigers if games are bumped to Fox Sports Detroit Plus. Included on the Pistons wallpaper is a tribute to William Davidson and on the Tigers wallpaper there is a tribute to George Kell. RIP.

Yet more design changes! I finally found a new font that I really like after much searching. A new background design is in the works and it will be ready for next month. I’ll have March’s wallpapers before the Tigers start playing Spring Training games as I’ll be including the February part of their schedule on the March wallpaper (a whopping 4 games).

I did the best with all of that empty space. February is hard like that.

0-16. I’m still alternating between laughing and feeling sad. At least the Lions won’t be crapping up the Detroit sports scene for a while. The Red Wings and Pistons will be by themselves on the DSC until Spring Training rolls around for the Tigers.

I carried over the “retro month” festivities from the schedule wallpapers to the DSC with the same classic logos and retro font.

In honor of the Winter Classic, I have made retro-styled wallpapers for the Pistons and Red Wings for January. You will find a classic logos and an old school font. I even used retro TV network logos (where possible) I really went all-out on these! Retro month seems to be the most popular of all of my designs.

As far as the Spirit, the logistics prevented me from going full retro. There just aren’t enough good quality classic logos out there for OHL teams (not to mention the possible unfamiliarity with Saginaw being a relatively young OHL town). I used the same font as the Pistons and Red Wings wallpapers and utilized the shoulder logo found on the 3rd jersey.
