Happy New Year!
It’s time for the biannual “Retro Month”. I have selected logos from the past of the teams that the Red Wings and Pistons will be playing this month. I have limited the logo selection to current locations of teams, which is why you won’t see a Hartford Whalers logo when the Red Wings play Carolina. After what happened in Hartford, there’s no way I could do that. As for teams that don’t have any real retro logos (like the Minnesota Wild) I chose alternate logos.
Huge thanks to Donovan Moore of the Society for Sports Uniform Research for providing the most accurate colors for all of the logos in my wallpapers and to the people at Chris Creamer’s Sports Logos Page for providing many high quality logos to use.
As far as the whole Comcast/Versus/DirecTV squabble, I’ve decided to go back to just one set of wallpapers for the Red Wings. I’ll just be taking a minor jab at what Versus used to be called to remind everyone of their roots. ^_^
